Korean BB Cushions has been one of the most popular things in the beauty community this 2017. Almost all Korean beauty and makeup brands are coming up with their BB Cushions, and you know what’s worst? We are all sucked in to the fad and we want to try out all these BB Cushion, because who's to blame right? They are effective and they have different effect on the skin and these BB Cushions also give good benefits to the skin rather that use a heavy and thick foundation.

Lapothicell was too kind to send out their products for review, today an in-depth review for their Tone Up & Cover Cushion will be shared with you. If you want to know more about this cushion, then read on.

This Tone Up & Cover cushion has a protection from the sun, whitening and wrinkle improvement benefits. This specific cushion also has SPF50+/PA+++, which is good for this summer season because we all need protection from the sun right? The product provided by Lapothicell was in the shade 23 which is the Natural Beige. Their cushions only have 2 available shades, Ivory, and Natural Beige.

Packaging: The packing for this cushion is same as those cushions available in the market. This has a sleeker and thinner compact shape to it. It is definitely a plastic case packaging, have a white color and also have a mirror inside. Just like your other cushion it also has an open/sealed cap, a cushion, and a puff.

Point 2: FORMULA

Ingredients:

“Titanium dioxide, hexahydroethoxycinnamate, Zinc oxide, Niacinamide, Adenosine,  Purified water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Silymethoxy cinnamate, phenyltrimethoxysilane Cone, Cyclomethicone, Butylene Glycylene, Glycerin, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Butylene Lycolide, Dicaprylate / Dicaprate Phage-10, Dimethicone, Niacinamide, Distearmonium hectorite, Sorbitan sesquioleate, Yellow iron oxide, magnesium sulphate, Dimethico crospolymer beads, wax, talc, aluminum hydroxide ceresin, phenoxyethanol stearic acid, triethoxycaprylyl Silane, red iron oxide, hexyl hexyl glycerin, black iron oxide adeno 11 syndi sodium iditide 0112-hexanediol fragrance.”

Contains whitening ingredients to tone up the dull skin and brightens the skin. (SPF50 +, PA +++) Protects skin from UV rays

Main Ingredients and their effect:

1. Uolo Shinya aka (Niacinamide)

A certified whitening ingredient that will improve the skin tone and will increase skin molecules to the skin which will make the skin looking healthy and alive.

2. Bisabolol

Clear oil from “German Chamomile” which helps the skin calm and helps regulate the flow of oil and sebum to the skin.

3. Adenosine Antioxidant

This ingredient activates the anti-oxidation of the skin for a more youthful skin.

4. WHITE FLOWER COMPLEX composed of the extract of Lilium extract of Lilium japonica extract and 57 flower extract of Lilium japonica.

This flower extract releases the natural components of the skin.

Point 3: PIGMENTATION/APPLICATION

How to use:

“Use enclosed sponge by tapping the middle to release the content to apply all over face and neck. Repeat as desired for more coverage. * Close the lid tightly after each use to preserve freshness.”

Just like your usual BB Cushion, a cushion puff is included. Based on the performance of other Cushions, it is recommended to use the puff provided as it provides more coverage than using a makeup brush or another beauty sponge. The puff does not absorb the product but just dispenses it to you the skin upon application.

This Tone Up and Cover Cushion has a light to medium coverage. Even though this has light-medium coverage, it still has the ability to cover redness and also dark spots. Upon application, you will also notice that the cushion work well on pores and fine lines as it does not cling onto those.

Point 4: LONGEVITY/WEAR

Precautions for Use:

1. If you have any of the following abnormalities with cosmetics, you should discontinue use. If you continue to use it, you will get worse symptoms. Consult your dermatologist if you have any abnormalities such as red spots, swelling or itching

2. Do not use in areas with injuries, eczema, or dermatitis.

3. When storing and handling, be sure to close the cap after use. Do not store it in a place out of the reach of children. Do not store it in a hot or cold place or in direct sunlight.

Upon application, you will notice that the cushion has a lighter shade to it compared to other #23 shades available in the market. When applied at first you will see that it really is light on the skin and somewhat has a brightening effect and will not confide with your skin tone, but in just minutes when the foundation has set to the skin and has adapted to the skin tone and not appear white at all.

As for the wear test, this particular BB Cushion can last for about 4 hours then you will see it dragging and wearing off along the laugh lines near the mouth and along the sides of the nose. If reapplication will be required, it is good to say that this BB Cushion layers well and does not make the existing makeup cakey in any way.

Point 5: EFFECT & CONCLUSIONS

1. A compact cushion that fits perfectly in your makeup bag. It also has a sleek look to it which makes it look high-end and high quality.

2. The cushion foundation has a lightweight feel to the skin upon application. It is also as if you are not wearing any face product.

3. The consistency of this cushion is pretty matte rather than a moisturizing and dewy one which is stated in the description that this gives a powdery finish.

4. The cushion does have a coverage to in which the redness and some dark spots on the skin are covered by this cushion foundation.

5. One downside to this cushion is that this only has 2 shades available, which is Ivory and Natural Beige. The number 23 or Natural Beige usually fits a slightly darker skin tone based on other cushions available in the market, but this one has a light shade to it in which it does not really suit the skin due to light color, but hey! maybe that’s why it is called “Tone Up” cushion?

6. Even though the shade is slightly lighter than usual, in minutes of using the cushion, the shade adapts to the skin and makes it a slightly same shade of the skin but a tad lighter.
